Hot Wheel

Early this summer we were given a hot wheels fourwheeler, that needed a new battery. We decided that we didn't want to spend the $60 for a new battery so my dad asked if he could take it and modify it. He brought it back with a wheelchair battery attached to the back. Needless to say it had a lot more zip. At first Micah was terrified of it, but it didn't take him long to figure it out. In this video I cannot believe that he is only 19 months old.

Flag Football

Jordon played flag football this fall. It's the first team sport that we've signed him up for since he's moved up here. He had a lot of fun playing and did really well. His team won more games than they lost but I wasn't keeping track so I couldn't tell you their rank. He already can't wait for the next sport, Basketball. Luckily it will be held inside, those outside football games got very cold at times. It's been really good for Jordon and I've seen him become more active and wanting to do more. He's now in band, in a special choir group, wants to sign up for boy scouts and can't wait for basketball. I'm worn out just thinking about it.

Silverwood

We recently went to Silverwood we my Rebecca and her kids. It was a lot of fun, I actually hadn't been since before Micah was born. We spent most of the day in the water park because our little ones were easier to keep track of. Later Rebecca and I went on the Panic Plunge a ride that takes you straight up in the air and without notice drops you. What a ride, I think I may have peed in my pants (only a little though) ;) Would definitely like to go again!

Our Crazy Dog Cassie

Here is a video of our dog Cassie, we love her but sometimes wonder how many brains she has left. She loves water and rocks, when the two combine it's nothing but hilarous.

Garden Hose

Mike took Micah outside today and decided to fill up Micah's little pool with water. Micah loves the water so much that he is willing to get in with all his clothes on. Shortly after finishing filling the pool Micah decided that he wanted to try he hand at taming the garden hose. He had lots of fun and didn't seem to mind soaking himself with the freezing water.

Vaccinations

Micah is coming up on his 18 month well check and I've been alittle nervous about it. At Micah's 12 month well check we started his vaccination schedule with his first shot. We decided that we would only give Micah one vaccination at a time and see if there were any reactions before giving anymore. His first set went well and we saw not adverse reactions. About four weeks later we went back in for another shot; it was the second does of Pc (Pneumococcal Vaccine). Less than 24 hours after the shot was given Micah broke out in horrible hives (which lasted for 10 days, I had to give Benadryl every 4-6 hours or they would pop up again). The doctor decided that we needed to get an allergy test done to make sure that's what was causing the hives. I called my insurance company and they informed me that they wouldn't cover any of this until our deductible was met, which we couldn't afford to do at the time. So we decided that we wouldn't give him anymore of that particular vaccine especially since he'd already had two doses. Now my dilemma is should we try another vaccine again and if we do which one. I bought a book that was recommended by a friend called The Vaccine Book by Dr. Robert W. Sears that goes over each vaccine, what ingredients are contained in them, how prevalent the disease it's protecting against is today, and the pro's and con's of them. Now I just have to decide which vaccine to give him next. I am thankful that we decided to follow the schedule that we chose of giving only one vaccine at a time. It's not for everyone but it has been a blessing in disguise for us.

Best Mother's Day Ever

Today was Mother's Day and it was the best one ever. Aside from the Pedicure gift certificate and a new shower head that I wanted, I received the best gift from Jordon. He totally surprised me with a homemade card and note.

The Card said "Happy Mother's Day Katie" on the out side and on the inside it said "I love you Katie, U rock my sox". Then there was a note taped inside in which he wrote, " Katie, Thank you for being a great step mom. You are always their when I need help with something. For example you helped me with my William Shakepeare and I've had 100% on all of them. I trust you like you trust me, so it's easier for me to tell secrets to you. You make great dinner. It isamazing how you help micah learn all those words. It is also amazing that you watch me, micah, Eliza, and Gaby. WOW! Happy Mothers Day Love, Jordon." Isn't that so sweet, it made just about cry.

We spent the afternoon at the CDA park and had a picnic lunch. It was so much fun. Micah loved the slides, he didn't like walking barefoot in the sand, and had a really hard time leaving another boy's toy alone, in fact he threw a huge fit. Jordon enjoyed spending time with Micah and loved taking pictures. He actually took some really good ones.

1st Blog

I'm hoping that this will be a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. It's hard to know where to start. I'm really excited because we just got the internet like two days ago and I've been really excited to see what everyone has been up too. We had dial up about 6 months ago but that was a joke so we canceled it I can't believe it's even an option anymore, so I know it's dumb but I'm really excited about having high speed.
